Graduate Business Programs Announce Restructured MSBA Curriculum
SCU redesigns MSBA program and introduces Online MSBA program to meet the changing needs of Silicon Valley
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (March 2, 2021)
The Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University announced today the introduction of a new curriculum for its Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program, beginning in Fall 2021. In addition to the newly redesigned on-campus program, the school also announced the launch of a new Online MSBA program, which will begin offering classes in September 2021.
The updated on-campus MSBA curriculum has been streamlined to add more flexibility for students while reinforcing key competencies in the field of business analytics. Highlighted changes include a decrease in the number of total units from 48 to 42, the addition of R programming to the introductory math class, and a new required class on Prescriptive Analytics.
Through these changes and others, the new curriculum will allow students to strengthen their technical abilities before beginning their work in the industry practicum while also providing more time to engage with their cohort, practicum partners, and the graduate school’s extensive Career Management programming, all at a more affordable price. MSBA students will also have the added benefit of access to a limited number of online elective classes through the new online program, providing increased flexibility all around.
"The analytics field is one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand fields in tech," Senior Assistant Dean of Graduate Business Programs, Toby McChesney said. "By drawing on Leavey’s strong ties to Silicon Valley, both the redesigned on-campus program and the online program will cater to this increased demand and ensure our students are receiving the highest-level business analytics skills and training possible, all while allowing students from across the nation to join and broaden the Bronco network and brand."
Applications for admission are now being accepted for the September 2021 class start. To learn more about the on-campus MSBA program, visit here. To receive updates on the new online MSBA program, visit here.
