Starting in 2024, Leavey is making it more convenient for busy working professionals in Silicon Valley to earn a top-ranked executive MBA degree. The School’s renowned Executive MBA program will now be offered in a new hybrid format, enabling students to participate in more than one-third of the program online.

Ranked #1 in Silicon Valley and #14 nationwide by U.S. News & World Report, the Leavey Executive MBA program at Santa Clara University combines real-world experiential learning, collaboration with diverse peers and instruction by expert faculty members and practitioners to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed at the highest levels in business.

“Today’s exceptional leaders are looking for high-caliber, prominent executive degree programs that not only help them stay at the cutting-edge of their industries, but also enable them to sustain a level of professional and personal balance in their everyday lives,” said Ed Grier, dean of Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. “The Leavey Executive MBA offers the unparalleled experience they want, and our new format will provide the accessibility and flexibility they need.”

The current program requires students to be on campus two weekends a month for classes on Friday evenings and Saturdays. The new format, launching in August 2024, requires students to attend classes in person only once a month; the second session of the month will be held virtually, still on Friday evenings and Saturdays. Orientation, residential courses, and  all immersion programs will still be held in person.

Deeper and more nuanced than a traditional MBA, the Leavey Executive MBA program is built on foundations necessary for C-suite leadership: an Innovative and Entrepreneurial Mindset; Strategic Leadership; Analytical Aptitude; and Cross-Functional Execution. Designed specifically for seasoned executives with 10 or more years of managerial experience, the program provides tailored experiences, including high-level workshops, individualized mentorship, executive coaching, global and domestic immersion weeks, enhanced networking opportunities, and exclusive expert speakers. With a tuition cost of less than 60% of other top-15 executive programs in the greater Bay Area and pathways to lucrative careers in Silicon Valley, the Leavey MBA provides graduates with unmatched ROI.

“We are excited to be able to offer executives a more convenient way to experience one of the best programs in the nation,” said Jo-Ellen Pozner, faculty director of the executive MBA program and associate professor of entrepreneurship and management.“ The Leavey Executive MBA program goes beyond fundamentals, providing multiple opportunities to apply knowledge through real-world experiences. This allows students to move their thinking beyond the bounds of their functions and organizations, exploring the intersection of their organizations with outside stakeholders, institutions, and macro forces.”

The first year of the program includes required courses covering a wide range of critical executive skills like strategic management, organization and team management, corporate finance, supply chain and operations management, and business ethics.  The second-year curriculum includes a mix of electives and integrative capstone courses. Immersion experiences take place after the second, third, and sixth terms, and the program is bookended by two intensive leadership weekends.
