Gallery Exhibition Schedule

All exhibitions are held in the Department of Art and Art History's Gallery, located in the Edward M. Dowd Art and Art History Building, 775 Franklin St, Santa Clara, CA. Exhibitions, artist talks, and receptions are free and open to the public. Gallery Hours are M-F, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. except during University closure dates and holidays. 


 

Parallel Visions

Japanese Artists: Kineta Kunimatsu, Rie Kawasaki, Mitsugu Aikawa, Hiroshi Takeda, and Hiroyasu Kosekegawa

This group exhibition draws parallels from artists in Hokkaido, Japan and select faculty members from the Santa Clara University Department of Art and Art History. The exhibit reflects the thirty-five-year relationship between SCU and artists from Hokkaido, and compares and contrasts work from both groups to show the similarity and differences in which the artists approach a variety of mediums.

Montalvo Lucas Artist Fellow - Mayuko Ono Gray

Exhibition Dates: Jan. 4 to Feb. 19, 2027

Mayuko Ono Gray is an artist based in Houston, TX whose primary medium is graphite drawing. Born in Japan, she trained in traditional Japanese calligraphy in her youth and later studied classical Western drawing. Ono Gray moved to the United States following high school and went on to receive her MFA in Painting from the University of Houston in 2007. Her work has been exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad, including exhibitions in Japan, Mexico, Germany, Italy, UK, Greece, and Canada. Her works are represented by Hooks-Epstein galleries in Houston, TX and by Galería 910 in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Studio Art Exhibition and Digital Design Showcase

Exhibition Dates: May 10 to June 11, 2027

Gallery closed: May 31, 2027

Graduating seniors in the studio art program participate in a senior show where they learn the process of installation and presentation of their senior exhibit. Students work directly with an exhibition advisor to design and edit their exhibit, write up an artist statement, and host an opening reception in a professional manner.
