The Communication Department welcomes transfer students and does not require any communication courses prior to a student’s application. Students seeking to take some communication courses are encouraged to look at the lower division courses. The department typically accepts a public speaking course as a transfer course and, depending on the syllabus, an introduction to interpersonal communication and an introduction to media studies. Transfer credit is not accepted for communication and technology (COMM 012), introduction to digital film making (COMM 030), or news gathering and writing (COMM 040).
