"Last month I experienced a pivotal moment in my professional career. I presented for the first time at a California Council on Teacher Education Conference in San Diego! I have always wanted to be a presenter, and I feel so fortunate to have presented on a topic I am so passionate about: Trust, specifically how you need trust in order to build effective teams in schools. This journey started from a simple research paper I wrote in my grad class this summer based on my copious practitioner experience coupled with literature evidence. And with the suggestion of one of my amazing professors, morphed into a topic proposal and it got accepted, and now here I was presenting to university professors, deans, principals and doctorate students. I was around like-minded people who are advocating for teachers and students, and who are fighting for social justice and inspire action everyday. I am so humbled to be part of this profession, and to hear their stories on trust building in their schools. Who knows, I may end up doing a Ph.D. on this topic some day!!"
