Santa Clara University has partnered with the Institute of Reading Development to provide summer reading programs and continuing education throughout the summer months to those as young as four years old in our local community. Since 1970, the Institute of Reading Development has taught more than two million students and trained more than five thousand teachers.Between the end of one school year and the start of the next every student risks summer learning loss. Studies show that reading over the summer has a positive impact on kids.
