Distributed energy resources (DERs) have tremendous potential to transform operators and users toward more clean and resilient energy supplies by harvesting and distributing various renewable energies tailored to the profiles of distinctive local communities. An equitable and user-centric market is essential in this transformation. New designs, mechanisms, and technologies are needed to establish a DER-based, self-sustaining clean energy ecosystem at the grid edge for a diverse spectrum of communities and stakeholders. In this inaugural workshop of the NSF EuReCa Global Center, we try to connect stakeholders from communities, federal agencies, utilities, private sectors, and academia to discuss the challenges, exchange ideas, and explore user cases and possible solutions.

This workshop will be held on March 25, 2024, in Santa Clara, CA, USA, and is sponsored by the NSF Global Centers Program1. It aims to attract a broad range of DER stakeholders across the Bay Area, including attendees from the co-located 8th Al International Conference on Smart Grid and Innovative Frontiers in Telecommunications hosted at Santa Clara University. The workshop will be held in person to connect and facilitate the discussion among stakeholders. As the workshop date approaches, we would like to share some important information below.

1. The event will be hosted at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA, on March 25, 2024. The detailed address is below:

2. The workshop website is available at https://www.scu.edu/engineering/eureca/conferences. Onsite registration and networking will start at 9:00 a.m., and the program will officially start at 9:30 a.mWe have updated a tentative schedule and speaker information on our website. Please feel free to check out the detailed information. Please note that we are still confirming the details with one or two potential speakers, which may lead to minor schedule changes. We'll keep our website updated. 
 
3. How to get here:
Please note that if you type in 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA in Google map, you may be directed to some other entrance to campus. The easiest way to park is to get into the campus from the main entrance (with the Caltrain station, Starbucks, and Bank of America just across the street). After passing the main entrance, make a left turn and you will see the main parking building. Please refer to the two maps (one Google map + one SCU campus map) right below, with the main entrance, parking building, and the Sobrato Campus for Discovery and Innovation (SCDI) highlighted. In addition, please feel free to check out our campus map at https://www.scu.edu/map/

4. Parking permit:
Please get a parking permit from the main entrance Koisk by mentioning that you are a speaker for the NSF EuReKa Workshop. Please note that your permit will only allow you to park with an E type of parking lot (available on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the main parking building).
