General Information
As part of the Core Curriculum, all students are required to complete the Second Language Requirement. Click the following links to learn more about how to fulfill this requirement through either the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures or Department of Classics:
Deadline
Language placement testing should ideally be completed 3 weeks prior to participating in your Academic Advising & Course Enrollment session.
If you do need to enroll in language courses at SCU in order to fulfill the Second Language Requirement, it is strongly recommended that you complete the required courses during your first or second year at SCU.
Please note that a placement recommendation is required prior to enrolling in your first Modern Languages & Literatures course.
