Academic Department Manager

Ruth Mikusko joined SCU’s Department of Theatre and Dance in July 2015. With a degree in Dance and English from the University of Surrey (Roehampton), England, and a UK high school teaching qualification in Dance, she taught modern dance technique at Bridgwater College, England prior to moving into Arts Administration at the Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre, Taunton, England.

Ruth emigrated to the US in 1997 and worked at San Jose Repertory Theatre as Box Office Manager then Office Manager before joining Stanford Lively Arts, Stanford University in 2003 where she became an integral part of the programming and administrative teams, and Artist Services Manager. After a short foray into events management, she is happy to be back in the performing arts world.

Passionate about dance in all its stylized and traditional forms, Ruth studied ballet, tap and jazz throughout her youth, performed with an English ladies folk dance team, and a Scottish & Highland Dance group, and portrayed Miss Sarah Anne Hildyard, Royal Governess to Queen Victoria's children, at San Francisco's Great Dickens Christmas Fair.  She still takes dance classes regularly.

In 2023, Ruth was the recipient of the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Service Award.  Read More >>
