SCU Day of Service

Santa Clara University joins the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities for the National Jesuit Day of Service, Sat. April 30, 2016.

Projects include:

  • Spark the imagination of children with literature by reading with K-5 students at Washington School.

  • Sort donations for those in need at Sacred Heart Community Services.

  • Volunteer for site beautification projects including cleaning and weeding at Community United of San Jose (formerly Alma Community Center).

  • Join our Bronco Urban Gardeners (BUG) at Gardner Academy with organic gardening projects including building a sensory garden. These garden programs provide environmental and nutritional education for the students.

  • Revitalize the library for Estrella Family Services at Gardner Academy by organizing book shelves and repairing books.

At the conclusion of each project, all volunteers are invited to Washington School to enjoy homemade tamales and lunch hosted by the Washington school parent group.
