2022 Alumnus of the year - Jack Lazar
The Accounting Department and Advisory Board awarded Jack Lazar, Class of 1987, the SCU Accounting Alumnus of the Year Award at the Accounting Awards Banquet on May 19, 2022. Jack has more than 30 years of experience in operational and financial roles in Silicon Valley companies. Jack was most recently the CFO for GoPro, taking them public in 2014. Prior to that he served as SVP Corporate Development and General Manager of Qualcomm Atheros after completing the sale of Atheros Communications to Qualcomm in 2011. He joined Atheros as their CFO in 2003, taking them public a year later. He previously served in leadership roles at NetRatings, Apptitude, and Electronics for Imaging.
Jack has served on the SCU Accounting Advisory Board since 2016. Over the years, he has been a guest speaker of the Junior/Senior Accounting Seminar Series, moderator for the Fall Corporate Accounting Career Panel, and participant in the Sophomore Accounting Information Night. Jack holds both public and private board and advisory roles at several companies including Global Foundries, Box, Silicon Labs, and Mellanox Technologies. Jack has been a strong supporter of his community and has served as an invaluable mentor and role model to many young adults during the course of his career.
