All MS Students will complete either a Practicum or Capstone project as a part of the graduation requirements.

The PRACTICUM is designed not only to acclimate less experienced students to the rigors and standards expected in the professional workplace but also to plug student into the Silicon Valley network and to allow them to apply what you've learned in the classroom to solve a problem defined by our industry partners. You'll be placed in a team of 4-5 students under the supervision of a faculty advisor, and will work on the project spanning a two-quarter period, with the understanding that you'll commit 5-6 hours per week.

CAPSTONES are designed to be more flexible in terms of availability and also accessibility to our population of working students. You won't be asked to sign an NDA, and there won't be any conflicts of interest with your employer, since the project is not executed with an industry partner. Projects will be completed in groups of 4-5 students under the supervision of a faculty advisor. These projects will be entirely contained in a single quarter, with the understanding that you'll commit 10-12 hours per week to complete your project deliverables.
