Santa Clara University Named Top 25 in the Nation for Undergraduate Business

The Leavey School of Business' Undergraduate Business Program earned a No. 25 placement in the annual rankings from Poets&Quants.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (January 27, 2022)

Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business offers one of the nation's best undergraduate business programs, earning the No. 25 spot on Poets&Quants 2022 Top Undergraduate Business Programs list.

The sixth annual rankings from Poets&Quants - a leading news source for undergraduate business education - evaluated 95 of the most-accomplished business programs based on alumni experience, admissions standards, and career outcomes.

“We’re very excited to see the Leavey School of Business recognized as one of the top programs in the nation,” said Dean Ed Grier. “From our exceptional faculty and staff, innovative and entrepreneurial academic offerings, and our location in the world’s most dynamic business environment of Silicon Valley, we are committed to providing our students with a top-of-the-line education.”

These newest rankings come on the heels of other, similarly strong national rankings for the Leavey School of Business, including a No. 49 placement out of over 500 universities nationwide by U.S. News & World Report for excellence in undergraduate business education. Beyond the overall rankings, LSB earned high marks for several of its concentrations including Entrepreneurship (No. 9), Accounting (No. 15), Management Information Systems (No. 17), Business Analytics (No. 23), Management (No. 39), and Finance (No. 42).

"This is an exciting achievement for our undergraduate program and for the entire Leavey School of Business community,” said Senior Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Business Programs, Jo-Anne Shibles. “In addition to admissions data, these rankings are based on a representative survey of our alumni and reflect their successes in the workforce post-grad, as well as their satisfaction with faculty availability, extracurricular opportunities, and accessibility of the alumni network.”

For the first time since its creation, Poets&Quants has adjusted its methodology to include the average high school GPA of the most recently enrolled class, as well as the average percentage of students that reported being National Merit finalists or semi-finalists. These two new categories combine with average SAT scores, program acceptance rates, and the alumni survey to make up the rankings. For more information on the Poets&Quants methodology, see here
