The Princeton Review Names Santa Clara University the No. 9 Online MBA in the Nation
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (December 4, 2021)
Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business offers one of the nation's most outstanding online MBA programs, earning a No. 9 spot in the annual rankings from The Princeton Review. Compared to last year’s No. 14 ranking, SCU jumps 5 spots to land within the top 10 programs on the education services company’s Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2022 list.
The list, which is the company's 7th annual ranking of online MBA programs, and a part of The Princeton Review's Best Business Schools for 2022 project, relies on student surveys regarding the learning experience, student support, and career outcomes. Additionally, the company evaluates institutional data on admissions, technological infrastructure, and academic rigor. Based on this feedback, The Princeton Review highlighted Santa Clara students’ appreciation for faculty responsiveness, program flexibility, and the importance of the in-person residency that kicks off the program. This newest ranking comes on the heels of last month’s No. 3 Online MBA Program ranking from Poets&Quants.
“To see this jump from a top 15 program to a top 10 program is exciting in many ways - but especially because of the admissions and student satisfaction data that informs these rankings,” Senior Assistant Dean of Graduate Business Programs, Nydia MacGregor said. “I’m so proud of our Graduate Business Programs team for all of their hard work over the past four years as we have worked to grow our Online MBA program. By recruiting high-caliber students and providing high-touch, personalized support for our Online MBA students throughout their time at SCU and as alumni afterward, we look forward to continued excellence for this program in the new year.”
Building upon the rigor of Santa Clara’s Evening MBA curriculum, ranked No. 20 by U.S. News & World Report, the Leavey School of Business launched its Online MBA program in January 2018 and currently has 288 Online MBA students across 11 states.
“This newest ranking for our Online MBA Program is yet another exciting recognition for the Leavey School of Business community and a tribute to our commitment to collaborative learning and original, rigorous, and impactful scholarship,” Dean Ed Grier said. “Through these pursuits, we develop principled and creative leaders who transform people, organizations, industries, and society for the common good.”
The Princeton Review chose the 50 online MBA programs and tallied its ranking list based on data from the company's 2020-21 surveys of administrators at more than 125 business schools offering online MBAs. The company also factored in data from its 2020-21 surveys of more than 6,000 students enrolled in online MBA programs. More than 60 data points were weighted to determine the list and rankings. The criteria focused on five core areas: academics, selectivity, faculty, technical platforms, and career outcomes.
