Discover E Engineers Week Feb 20-26, 2022

Dear Santa Clara University School of Engineering Alumni, Students, Faculty, and Staff,

National Engineers Week is upon us. A time when the nation celebrates our wonderful profession, educates the community on the importance of engineering, and continues to inspire future generations of engineers so that they may go on to create the solutions to the problems of the future that may seem impossible to solve.

As Nelson Mandela said, “It always seems impossible until it's done.” For engineers, creating possibilities is where we thrive. This year’s eWeek theme, “Reimagining the Possible,” is all about celebrating all the ways engineers turn dreams and ideas into reality. Our community is no exception. From wearable movement sensors that can help improve the lives of patients with musculoskeletal disorders, to water filtration kits made for underserved populations of elementary school aged children, our community continues to accept the mission of “impossible” challenges.

You may notice that this year’s celebration of eWeek looks a little different than year’s past, and though we may not have as many in-person events as before, we are keeping the spirit of Engineers Week going throughout the remainder of the quarter and into Spring. Check our events calendar below as new events will continue to be posted. We will have our annual Kick-off Celebration on Tuesday, followed by themed spirit days all week long. And be sure to join us on April 20 for a panel discussion on Cryptocurrency, featuring our own Computer Science and Engineering Associate Professor Yuhong Liu.

I wish you all a wonderful eWeek full of possibilities!
