Remembering Father Reites

The School of Engineering lost a dear friend, respected academician, cherished mentor, and tireless supporter with the death of James Reites, S.J., on April 15, 2016.

Below are remembrances and stories of the one and only Papa Reites, a man who, by his example, taught us to live each day and give each day.

  • The outgoing president of Engineers Without Borders, Mohit Nalavadi, sent out this message to EWB's partners at PICO International.

  • This article originally appeared in the Spring 2009 edition of the School of Engineering’s newsletter, Horizons in Engineering.

  • Following months of preparation, electrical engineering seniors Jacob Leatherberry and Nicolas Metais traveled to a tiny village in Benin to install their solar microgrid and bring light to 113 residents. And that’s when the fun began!
