In 2019, Renee (Bader) Niemi was selected for the School of Engineering’s highest honor, the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award, in recognition of her long and distinguished career leading a variety of technical startups and corporations and of her service to the university and to the School of Engineering.

In 2019, Renee (Bader) Niemi was selected for the School of Engineering’s highest honor, the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award, in recognition of her long and distinguished career leading a variety of technical startups and corporations and of her service to the university and to the School of Engineering.

Throughout her career in marketing and senior management, Renee has provided strategic planning, brand marketing, market development and product road mapping for a wide variety of companies—from startups to multinational corporations such as Plantronics, Google, and Logitech. In addition to her corporate leadership, she has given freely of her time to help others succeed. For the past two years she has served as a mentor for the Miller Center’s Global Social Benefit Institute (GSBI), providing executive mentorship to social entrepreneurs, and since 2012 she has served on the School of Engineering’s Industry Advisory Board.
