The students created a scaled down model of the Guadalupe River Flood Protection Project that prevents the flooding of the highly populated San Jose area. The model will provide a visual aid allowing members of the community to understand how box culverts and gabions reduce the impact of flooding. First, someone must pour water into the system reservoir, then the water will flow through the model riverbed and culverts, thereby showing the observer how culverts reduce flooding.
