The old Aquaponics Systems in the Forge Garden does not contain educational components, grow food, and retain water efficiently. The students’ objective was to construct a new Aquaponics system capable of growing food for the Forge Garden. To achieve this, they implemented clay pebble media, created a new drain, updated the pump cycle, and floated ping pong balls on the surface of the pond to decrease evaporation. The new design better circulates nutrients to allow for food growth.
