Biogas Digester Prototype (ENGR 110, Spring 2018)

The SCU Forge Garden called for a product that will exhibit sustainable cooking technology for their newly constructed sustainability kitchen. The students created a closed-loop biodigester system that will anaerobically break down plant water and uses the resulting gas as fuel for an outdoor stove. The final design digests a water-grass slurry to produce methane, and the product has an effective piping and sealing system that achieved a pressure test of up to 60 PSI.
