Off-Grid Living (ENGR 110, Winter 2018)

The Greenhouse was created as a self-sustainable food production system that connects technology used to monitor food conditions. The model implemented a WiFi connected module that sends alerts to homeowners. The installed sensors and an Arduino microcontroller will read the temperature, light levels, and water levels to determine the correct response to best maintain the plant. To adjust temperature the design will adjust by venting the roof, light sensors can apply a shade cover, and the water detection system triggers an alert to notify homeowners aware of water needs.
