Rude Dude's Book of Food, Spring 2015

Spring 2015

Thursday, May 7, 2015
noon - 1:30 p.m.
Williman Room, Benson Memorial Center

Would you throw away a boat full of cocoa beans? Did you know oranges are actually from China, not Florida?

Tim Myers, senior lecturer in the English Department and author of the featured children's title, Rude Dude's Book of Food: Stories Behind Some of the Crazy-Cool Stuff We Eat, will regale us with stories about popular foods. He will also talk about writing educational books for young audiences.

Dr. Katharine Heintz, lecturer in the Communication Department, will discuss the ways many food marketing messages targeting children and parents undermine attempts to eat heathy.

Bon Appétit will serve a lunch inspired by Rude Dude's Book of Food.

Join the Library and Bon Appétit for a fun and fascinating lunchtime event. Attendees will have the opportunity to win tickets to the next Literary Cuisine or a copy of Rude Dude's Book of Food.
