Kurt Schab with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department has received a $25,000 award from Raytheon Company.

Kurt Schab with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department has received a $25,000 award from Raytheon Company. These funds will support two projects "Active Radar" and "RF Fingerprinting".

Active Radar Project Objectives:

  • Design and build a 2.4 GHz radar using off-the-shelf parts
  • Radar shall have one transmitter and 4 receivers for coherent capture
  • Include the capabilities of sensing range, direction, Doppler and SAR imaging
  • Adapt the radar to an application to include signal processing software and a pointing and tracking mechanism  

RF Fingerprinting Project Objectives:

  • Capture data from a set of LoRa transmitters
  • Train a neural network to identify LoRa transmitters from collected data
  • Deploy the neural network on the Nvidia Jetson Nano board to identify LoRa devices
