Audition/workshop for an original devised piece
Mon, Nov. 7 & Tue, Nov. 8, 6-8pm
Fess Parker Studio Theatre
You are welcome to come to both nights but you only need to attend one workshop

Looking for: Actors, Writers, Designers, Musicians, Dancers, Choreographer, Directors, Researchers. No previous theater experience necessary.

- About the piece: After almost three years of the pandemic where are we? What is lingering from that time? What do we want to leave behind? What do we want to take with us? And how? We’ll use these questions, and others, as our departure point for a new devised piece called and carry what lingers ….

- Using the mixtape as a structure, and prompted by wind phones, slide projectors, field recordings, the piece will be written, directed, designed, and performed by the company.

- The piece will be made in the Winter Quarter in the Devised Theater Workshop class (THTR 75/175) Tuesday & Thursday 10:20 – 12:00

- Rehearsals and Performances will be the first five weeks of the Spring Quarter

- The title comes from a quote from Suleika Jaouad:
“When our lives are upended, either by an illness or a pandemic or some other kind of deep heartbreak or a sense of loss. We want to feel like we can move on from them, but we can’t compartmentalize these experience. … We have to learn how to move forward with them and carry what lingers.”
