Why Graduate School?

Consider these questions:

• Do you want to enter a profession that requires an advanced degree?
• Can a single topic or narrow range of topics sustain your interest for the next 2-7 years?
• Are you willing to invest the time, energy, and money associated with graduate school?
• Are you comfortable initiating and carrying out independent research? (Most Ph.D. programs are highly academic and research oriented).

• Are you stalling on making a career decision and not sure what else to do? (Have you talked to a career counselor?)
