FAQS

Here is a list of some our frequently asked questions. If your question isn't listed here, feel free to email us at broncoexchange@scu.edu!

Bronco Exchange is the only platform that provides access to a unique network of individuals who:

  • value a Santa Clara education
  • are competent, conscientious, and compassionate
  • are committed to making the world a better place through their words and actions
  • have chosen to join because they want to establish meaningful connections with other Broncos and give and/or receive support

With Bronco Exchange, you now have meaningful, scalable, and equitable access to our unique and powerful SCU community - no matter where you are in the world and no matter what stage you are at in your career journey.

Unlike other platforms, Bronco Exchange is private and exclusively for the Santa Clara community. Every member has opted to join, whether they value meaningful connections, are seeking advice, or want to share their time and talents. Help build the network by joining Bronco Exchange and inviting others in your SCU community to join as well.

Students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends of the University can all create accounts in Bronco Exchange.

You can connect with those who share your background, interests, or other affiliations. You can connect with other alumni and seek advice, or mentor current students who share common interests in your field of work. And you’re more likely to receive a response to your outreach because everyone has opted into Bronco Exchange to establish connections and provide or receive support!

You can connect with alumni, students, and others to seek advice or mentoring. You can also connect with those who share your background, interests, or other affiliations. And you’re more likely to receive a response to your outreach because everyone has opted into Bronco Exchange to establish connections and provide or receive support!

Faculty and staff are encouraged to join Bronco Exchange because the networking opportunities within the system provide a direct link to alumni, students, friends, and other University colleagues. It’s a great way to lead by example and support students as they prepare for their career journey. Just like alumni and student registrants, faculty and staff can also indicate their experience, expertise, and how they would like to engage with others on Bronco Exchange.

Yes! When you share your interests and goals, you are instantly matched with others who share those interests. Connections, networking, mentoring, and professional opportunities — designed exclusively for students and alumni around the world.

Absolutely! In addition to the ability to send messages through the system, the platform also includes built-in video calling, privacy-honoring international phone lines, and anonymized email address masking. None of these communication tools require you to share your personal contact information, and your street address, phone number, and email address are never shown to others.

You’ll be prompted to answer a series of matching questions about your background, professional experience or interests, and how you would like to connect with others on the platform. Your answers will allow the system to begin recommending connections based on your profile information. You can also browse professionals within the SCU network by industry, major, location, and other criteria; join groups; make connections; and more. Upon logging in, you may notice that your profile contents are pre-populated. We’ve done our best to connect various platforms and systems to avoid requiring users to update information in multiple locations. You’ll even have the option to import your LinkedIn profile - this saves you time and gets you connecting with other Broncos as quickly as possible!

You do not need an SCU.edu email address, and can sign up with your preferred email address. If it’s already in our system you’ll be good to go and can use Bronco Exchange right away! If not, your account will be held briefly while we verify your connection to the University. If you are an SCU student, faculty, or staff member, you can use your University email to access the site.

Currently we are limited with the number of groups we can house on the platform. Our plan is to add more groups at a later date once we hear from users what they’d like to see added. Be sure to watch for and complete our user surveys over the coming months to submit your group requests.
