Rwanda Immersion Trip 2019

BUSN 151 A&B

Students focus on the themes of food, hunger, poverty, and environment, examined through the lens of agriculture.  In Fall 2019, CFIE's Immersive Study (BUSN 151 A&B) will be to Rwanda. The trip dates are August 28 - September 13, 2019. This course blends short lectures, guided discussions, and reflections with a 14-day study trip in Rwanda. Interact with local people of diverse backgrounds.

The Center for Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship is home to a wide variety of opportunities to learn and study cultures abroad. From trips to places such as Myanmar and Cuba, Santa Clara students have enjoyed incomparable experiences that have influenced their college experiences and vocations and avocations.  Each year, CFIE takes a group of twelve students and two or three faculty leaders to a developing country. A one unit preparation course precedes the trip and a two-unit reflection course completes the experience. The program fee for this trip is $1000. Students are also responsible for the cost of the airfare up to but not to exceed $1500. The total cost for the program will not exceed $2500. Need-based financial aid is available.
