Chuck Byers is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Marketing at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, where he has taught since 2009. He serves as Coordinator of Business Communications and teaches courses in integrated marketing communications, brand leadership, social media marketing, and business communication at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Byers brings more than four decades of professional experience in marketing, brand management, and public relations. As Director of Worldwide Brand Management at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, he helped build a top-25 global brand valued at $11.9 billion. He has also held senior roles at Actel Corporation, Hayes Public Relations, and Burson-Marsteller, and founded his own technology-focused public relations agency in Atlanta. Through his consultancy, Business Practicum, he continues to develop corporate learning and marketing programs for technology companies.
His work has earned multiple industry honors, including two PRSA Silver Anvil Awards, an IABC Golden Quill, and several ADDY Awards for consumer and business advertising. He is a past President of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and serves as Chairman of the Board of Birthright San Jose.
Byers holds an M.A. from the University of Texas and a B.S. in Journalism from Ohio University. He is accredited in Public Relations through the Public Relations Society of America.
