Sarah Cheikhali is doing research for her PhD at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is interested in the cartographic, architectural, and infrastructural conditions of possibility of drones in the theaters that they operate in. This interest emanates from her broader interest in geopolitics, geo-economics, international relations and international security. Her secondary research interests include political theology and the question of political self-sacrifice. Sarah’s earlier scholarship theorized the political phenomenon of suicide terrorism for which she was awarded the highest-ranking thesis in her cohort.
