Course Spotlight - Winter 2026

ECEN 779 - Special Topics in Robotics: Motion Planning

A comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of robot motion planning. Key topics include configuration spaces, graph search, sampling-based planning methods (PRM, RRT, and variants), trajectory optimization, kinodynamic constraints, uncertainty and risk management. 

Who is the lecturer: Dr. Arslan is VP of Robotics at Field AI and an AI/Robotics expert with deep experience in motion planning, autonomy, and controls. Previously he worked on autonomy at A³ by Airbus, Tesla, Voyage, NASA JPL, etc.
