THE TRAVELER
By Marc Connelly

The Traveler is a play written in subtext—the same subtext that is usually left out of history textbooks and documentaries. With this piece, I invite you to look between the lines and find a world we often choose to forget. You will discover the awkwardness that accompanies romance, the weight one name can hold, and how one conversation can change a person’s entire life.

The Traveler is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com)

Directed by Marc Didier

MYTH
By Alexis Standridge

In an unfortunate but age-old tale of a non-consensual pursuit of a woman by a man, the Greek myth of Daphne tells the story of a young heroine who becomes the unwilling object of a lustful chase by the god, Apollo. Daphne’s river god father saves her by turning her into a laurel tree. While she is saved, she is, no doubt, not spared the trauma of the experience. Alexis Standridge’s play, Myth, provides this Daphne with a community of women-trees who identify with her plight and give her a moment of respite during their meeting in the woods...

POOF!
By Lynn Nottage

With it being one of the first plays I performed in, I invite you to come full circle with me in my interpretation of Lynn Nottage’s Poof!. After a young housewife reaches her limit, she discovers that somehow her abusive husband has spontaneously combust –POOF!– right in front of her. Alongside her best friend from upstairs, she now must discover herself apart from her husband...and what to do with the ashes. With this show, I welcome you to explore the beauty in Black female friendships and the strength in womanhood.

Poof! is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com)

Content Advisory: Please be advised that these plays deal with mature themes and may contain mature language and imagery. Poof! contains lighting effects that may affect those with light sensitivity. Recommended for ages 12+.
