What are the dates of the 2017 Grand Reunion weekend?
The 2017 Grand Reunion weekend begins on Thursday, October 12 and ends on Sunday, October 15.
How can I make sure I don't miss any information related to Grand Reunion?
The Grand Reunion website contains everything you'll need to know about this special weekend, so make it your first destination for the most up-to-date reunion information. You can also make sure that you receive all mailed announcements and emails by updating your contact information. Help us keep you in the loop!
How do I RSVP?
Registration for the weekend will begin in late July 2017. You will be able to register online via this website, calling the Alumni Office at 408-554-6800, or by returning the response card received in your mailed invitation.
How much does it cost to attend Grand Reunion?
The majority of the events scheduled during the weekend are free to attend. Prices for paid events will be made available via the mailed invitation as well as the online schedule, which will be available in late July.
Do I have to be celebrating a milestone year to attend Grand Reunion?
No, you don't! While Grand Reunion is a wonderful opportunity for those classes ending in a 2 or 7 to come back and reconnect, it is a weekend full of chances for all Broncos to return to Santa Clara and remember how special this campus truly is.
Is Grand Reunion family-friendly?
It most certainly is! Saturday is an especially good time for kids to be on campus enjoying the fun events such as the Alumni Family Picnic, Family Day at de Saisset Museum, and the Bronco 5K Fun Run/Walk.
Can I request special meals because of dietary restrictions?
Yes; please indicate any dietary restrictions on your rsvp card or during the online registration process. We will send all requests to the catering department. Please check in with event staff prior to your meal(s) to ensure that your request(s) are accommodated.
What if my plans change and I need to cancel my RSVP?
We sincerely hope that does not happen, but if it does, please call the Alumni Office at 408-554-6800 by Friday, September 29 so we can process your cancellation. Refunds will not be given after Friday, September 29 due to catering commitments.
Where do I check in for reunion activities?
Visit your home on campus, Donohoe Alumni House, to find check-in headquarters for the weekend. Here you can pick up your name tag, grab a weekend schedule & map, and enjoy some light refreshments. Check-in will be open the following days and times:
Thursday, Oct. 12, 2 - 5 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 14, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Do I need a ticket to enter an event?
Upon checking in at an event, showing your name tag will grant you admission. This is valid for all events except the Block Party, which requires a ticket. If you check in at an event that you did not register for, you have the option of purchasing admission at that time.
How should I dress for Grand Reunion weekend activities?
We recommend that you dress comfortably and in your finest SCU gear! The weekend for the most part is a casual affair; however, your class dinner give you the opportunity to dress up in cocktail attire.
How can I find my friends at reunion?
Each reunion class will have different colored name tags, which will make it easier for you to spot your classmates. You can also leave your friend at note at your class' check-in table at Donohoe Alumni House.
Will I be able to connect to SCU's wireless network during Grand Reunion?
The wireless network SCUGuest is available to all Grand Reunion guests. No password is required and network access is complimentary.
Is there a mobile version of the Grand Reunion website?
The Grand Reunion website is mobile-friendly. Make sure to bookmark scu.edu/reunions so you can access the map and schedule and go paperless during the weekend!
Will exercise facilities be available?
Use of the Malley Center will be complimentary for all reunion attendees. Admission passes will be available when you check-in for the weekend. Hours for Malley will be posted in Summer 2017.
Will the bookstore be open?
The campus bookstore will be open throughout reunion weekend. Hours for the bookstore will be posted in Summer 2017.
Will I need a permit to park on campus? Where will I be able to park?
You will not need a permit to park on campus during reunion weekend. We will have parking direction signs around campus, but the best place to park on Friday is the parking garage off of Alviso & Benson St. On Saturday and Sunday, you may park anywhere that is not marked "C", "CN", or "CW". Please take a look at the campus map for parking lot locations.
Is disabled parking available?
Limited disabled parking is available on campus. The campus map can show you where the parking is located; click on the disabled permit type (last option on the page), and the blue boxes that show up will alert you to your parking options.
Are there any recommended hotels for Grand Reunion Weekend?
We have arranged for special rates at the Fairmont Hotel (Rate TBD) from Thursday, October 12 though Sunday, October 15, 2017. To receive the special rate, please mention the "SCU Grand Reunion".
Will shuttles be available between hotels and campus during the weekend?
Regular shuttle service between the hotels and campus will be provided on Friday and Saturday. A shuttle schedule will be posted prior to the weekend.
Is there transportation available from the airport to campus?
Transportation will not be provided by the Alumni Association between the San Francisco or San Jose airports and campus. Guests coming from San Jose International Airport can take the free #10 bus to the Santa Clara Transit Station (where the Caltrain is), which is directly across the street from SCU's main entrance.
I have trouble walking; how will I be able to get around campus?
Golf carts will be available throughout the weekend. There will be designated stops, but special cases can call the Alumni Office directly to arrange for pick-ups away from the designated stops. This number will be made available as Grand Reunion approaches.
Will childcare be provided during the weekend?
We are not able to provide childcare during the weekend, however listed below are some childcare services that you may want to contact. (Please note: These childcare services are not affiliated with Santa Clara University.)
