Wenxin Xie, Victoria

Dr. Victoria Wenxin Xie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. Her work spans environmental, urban, trade, and development economics. Xie's current research agenda examines the local labor market and aggregate impact of climate risk, mineral demand shocks and green industrial policies using empirical and quantitative spatial methods, with an interest in adaptation and policy implementation.

Her work has been published in the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of Development Economics, and Nature Communications, and has been covered by media outlets including Politico Pro, Forbes, The Guardian, and CalMatters. She has received research funding from the NBER Household Finance Small Grant program.

Dr. Xie holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Oxford, and a B.B.A. in Global Business and Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
