Dr. Morid is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. He teaches undergraduate and graduate analytical courses in information systems.

Dr. Morid’s research lies at the intersection of information systems and medical informatics. His work focuses on developing and applying advanced machine learning methods to large-scale healthcare data to improve patient outcomes, healthcare resource allocation, and clinical and managerial decision-making. His research examines healthcare cost prediction and risk adjustment, algorithmic fairness, social determinants of health, and personalized healthcare decision support. 

His research has been published in leading information systems and biomedical informatics journals, including Information Systems Research, Journal of Biomedical Informatics, ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems, and Computers in Biology and Medicine. His research has involved collaborations with private insurance organizations, healthcare providers and hospitals, government healthcare programs, and academic and research institutions, with a focus on improving healthcare decision-making, resource allocation, and patient outcomes.

Dr. Morid received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Utah, his M.S. in Electronic Commerce, and his B.S. in Software Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic).
