Beyond the Classroom

Political Science students at Santa Clara University have many opportunities to extend their learning outside of the classroom. Many students enter into internships in law, government, and advocacy, both in Silicon Valley and across the globe, to gain real-world insight into political systems and public service. Department programs such as the Washington Semester, Panetta Institute for Public Policy Congressional Internship Program and Lecture Series, the Eric Hanson Alumni Speaker Series, as well as our student-led groups, IMPACT and The Acropolis, deepen global and civic understanding and create a community of Political Science students that extends beyond the classroom. The Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society fosters community, leadership, and dialogue around current issues in politics and public affairs.
