2022 Senior Design Conference Judges' Registration
Thank you for your interest in the School of Engineering's 52nd Annual Senior Design Conference to be held Thursday, May 12, 2022.
We are excited to be back in person for this year's conference. Our seniors will present their projects in 16 different sessions in person with judges and local guests. Each session will be live-streamed for a wider audience of viewers via the Senior Design viewing portal that will be available on our website. A maximum of 10 judges per session will be assigned, with priority going to those whose experience best aligns with the session. Once the cap has been reached, we will start a waitlist for each session. Registrants will receive notice of assignment or wait list placement by April 29. Those who register but do not receive an assignment are encouraged to watch the presentations online.
To ensure a seamless experience for our students and the audience, strict requirements, outlined below, are necessary for this year’s judges. Those who are unable to meet the criteria for judging, or who feel uncomfortable being back in person, are encouraged to watch the presentations online, rather than registering as a judge. Whichever way you choose to participate, we will be delighted to have you with us!
To qualify for judging the Senior Design Conference, participants must:
- be in person
- bring a laptop, tablet, or mobile phone (and connect to SCU Guest Wifi) in order to evaluate projects
- be present for judge orientation promptly at 1:45 p.m.
- commit to participating for the duration of their assigned session on May 12, beginning with check-in at 12 - 1:30 p.m. and lasting as late as 5:30 p.m.
- complete an evaluation form for each presentation within the assigned session
- complete an evaluation of the overall session, an assessment of our program in preparing students for their engineering professions
- agree that by registering to judge, you accept that your participation will be captured as part of a livestream presentation
Registration to judge this year's Conference is open Wednesday, March 16. Please register by April 14 in order to have your name appear in the program. Before registering, please consider the criteria outlined above, and check the 2022 Senior Design projects to determine which session you wish to judge. Note: SCU faculty advisors match judges with sessions, and their decision is final.
We hope you will be able to join us on May 12 as a judge or as a spectator. Your support of our students’ work is so deeply appreciated.
