The Santa Clara University 2025-26 Ethics Bowl team, sponsored by the Markkula Center, turned in some truly excellent performances at the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE) California Regional Ethics Bowl held Dec. 6 at Grossmont College in El Cajon, California.

The SCU team competed in matches against Pomona College, Stanford University, and UC Irvine.  They addressed cases on organ and tissue donation while incarcerated; the ethics of punishment for political candidates; humanitarian aid in Afghanistan; femicide, misogyny, and patriarchy; shock art and the meatpacking industry; and natalism.

SCU finished the day with 2 wins and 1 loss, finishing 12th overall. Erin Bradfield, Ethics Bowl Coach and SCU Philosophy Teaching Professor added, “I am extremely proud of our squad — they performed at a high level and competed against some really great teams.”

We are proud to recognize our 2025-26 SCU Ethics Bowlers Shelly Cormier, Darcy Muller, Tiffany Nguyen, Joshua Nesdahl, and Jenna Roseto, and applaud their accomplishment at this year’s regional competition.
