Our Year in Numbers

The University Library dedicates each day to helping students thrive. Together, we create a measurable impact on the campus community. Below are a few highlights from the 2018-19 academic year:

6,167 questions answered

The Library Help Desk is always staffed with friendly reference assistants, and students enjoy 24-hour assistance through Ask A Librarian, an online messaging service.

37,636 books circulated

While we continue to expand our online resources, students, faculty, and staff can still check out print books from our rich collections for research and pleasure.

411 in-class workshops

Our librarians are accomplished educators who partner with faculty across campus to deliver in-class research instruction to undergraduate and graduate students.

17 public events

We offer free programs to the community featuring top speakers. Last year, we hosted bestselling authors Tommy Orange (There There) and Khaled Hosseini (The Kite Runner), among others.
