Things I am good at...
- I am good at communicating, listening, and connecting with others.
- I'm also really good at dreaming up and planning the next fun thing -- dinner with friends, a trip, or day out with my family.
Expertise that I have acquired in my life and career that I bring to my term of service on the SCU Alumni Board
- As a social worker, I am naturally oriented toward working with people. I use my communication skills to listen, validate, and understand where people are coming from and help them identify goals and plans to achieve those goals. I like to think of a board in context of history, to understand where the board is going. I like to understand who makes up the board, and how the personalities involved impact decisions and stake holders. Boards need strategy and goals, and I hope to utilize my skills in understanding how barriers and access can impact goal setting and execution.
