Jingbo Hou
Jingbo Hou is an Acting Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems & Analytics at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. His research focuses on enhancing the comprehension of the business implications associated with emerging digital technologies, spanning both micro and macro levels. At the micro level, his work delves into the role of online market designs, such as application costs, machine-generated content, non-personalized recommendations, and solution visibility. This investigation aims to mitigate information asymmetries and enhance matching efficiencies within diverse online two-sided platforms, including online labor markets, data-sharing platforms, and crowdsourcing communities. On the macro level, his interests extend to investigating the favorable societal impacts stemming from Information and Communications Technology (ICT), encompassing areas like telework adaptation and the influence of social media during the pandemic.
