Kelly Patterson joined Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business after graduating with a Ph.D. from the Cornell University Department of Sociology and teaching in the Management Department at the University of Southern California. Professor Patterson’s research examines organizational change, project formation, and individual careers, focusing on the way that costly and noisy choices are shaped by social learning processes and the participants’ social identity. Professor Patterson holds an MBA from Ohio State and a BS in Business from The Citadel. Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as a consulting manager for Accenture and served for six years as a Marine Corps officer.
