Zach McCarthy: Few Weeks Left in My College Career

I am writing this with just a few weeks left in my college career. It’s gone by so quickly, and I certainly feel grateful for my four years in Santa Clara. Our women’s soccer team just won the national championship, and I have never seen so much school spirit. It will be a Santa Clara day that I will always remember.

I am writing this with just a few weeks left in my college career. It’s gone by so quickly, and I certainly feel grateful for my four years in Santa Clara. Our women’s soccer team just won the national championship, and I have never seen so much school spirit. It will be a Santa Clara day that I will always remember.

As I approach graduation, I am balancing a couple classes and constantly interviewing and searching for a job. I will be heading back to Phoenix after graduation and am hoping to enter the commercial real estate field. I’m excited to hopefully learn the entire process of acquisitions and development. The day to day for the job should be a wide variety of tasks depending on what fires need to be put out that day. I’m looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to see the tangible result of developing a site. For anyone looking to go into the real estate industry, I can not recommend Santa Clara’s Real Estate Minor enough. The classes with Matt DiNapoli and Jim Whelan provide invaluable personal stories about their career path and challenges faced in the field. The Real Estate Association’s annual symposium is a fantastic chance to listen about current events in Bay Area real estate. The event is also a great introduction to networking in real estate and starting to build relationships with Santa Clara alumni. I hope everyone has the chance to have as great of an experience as I had at Santa Clara.
