Areas of Interest at SCU and LSB:  As a Marketing major and Innovation & Design Thinking minor, I have become heavily involved in clubs such as the Undergraduate Marketing Association and the SCU Maker Club. Both of these have given me a broader perspective of marketing, product design, and product management.

What are your SCU and LSB activities/general hobbies:  Activities and clubs I am involved in include the Leavey Ambassadors Program, LEAD Scholars Program, SCU My Own Business Institute (MOBI), Undergraduate Marketing Association, SCU Maker Club, and Latinx Business Student Association. Some hobbies that I have picked up while at SCU include intramural sports, going on a run around campus, photography, and occasional trips to San Jose.

What global experiences have you had in college? For Summer 2022, I will have the opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I will be taking a course in Strategic Leadership. While abroad, I will also take a part in a week-long study tour to learn and investigate the importance of leadership and strategic planning.

What internship/employment opportunities have you taken advantage of at LSB?  For over a year now, I have been fortunate enough to be a student worker in the SCU MOBI office, which is a career development website that anyone in the world can access to start or expand their own business!

Favorite LSB Class and Why? My favorite class by far has been OMIS 34: Information Systems with Professor Sur. This class looks at the relationship between science, information technology, and business, and Professor Sur does a great job of making the class really interactive. I have learned new skills such as HTML and CSS coding to make personal websites, which have proven to be very useful and fun.

What made you choose to attend LSB?  There were many factors that led me to choose to attend the Leavey School of Business, but the main ones were location and small class sizes. I knew I wanted to stay in California and I also wanted to be in a classroom where I could develop connections with my professors.

What advice you wish you had while applying to college?   When I was applying to college, I was scared of moving away from home and I was unsure of how I would handle everything. I wish I would have known to not be afraid to ask for help and connect with others! It is important to know that every incoming class is in the same boat, and we're all a bunch of nervous first years, so don’t be afraid to reach out to other students so that you can make new friends and be a part of new experiences.
