Study Abroad: Rome, Italy
What was one of your favorite classes? My favorite class had to be Italian, since being in college I haven't studied a different language and I forgot how much joy and satisfaction there is when learning and understanding a new language. Food and Wine was also another one of my favorite classes. I was able to learn about different regions in Italy and the hierarchy of wine and the importance and history behind wine in Italy.

What did you like about your program/university? Within my Program, I lived in a suburb of Rome in Balduina away from the madness of tourists while still being 15 minutes away from the center of Rome. Being able to walk around Rome, passing the most delicious gelato stores, hundreds of churches, and the most delicious suppli truly made me fall in love with Rome. I also loved the people I was there with, I went to this program knowing 3 people and came out with so many new Santa Clara friends that I was able to enjoy Rome with for 3 1/2 months.
What was your favorite place that you visited or favorite part about your city? I have a top 3, but every place i visited in its own unique way. Albania, Amsterdam and exploring the region of Tuscany wine tasting, left me with unforgettable memories and experinces.

What advice would you give to the 2024 abroad students?  Keep an open mind! Don't go where your bestfriends are but a culture and city you are truly excited to explore. With that being said you can't go wrong with the place you choose, every city I was able to visit and explore held such unique assets and qualities with so many hidden gems and delicious food! Lastly, don't book all your trips and weekends, as you make friends and hear of recommendations you will be able to work these trips into your study abroad experience.
