Your Favorite Photo app Could put Your Privacy at Risk

Irina Raicu, director, internet ethics, quoted by Lifewire.

Photo apps like Lensa AI are currently popular, using artificial intelligence to produce enhanced portraits created based on a few uploaded image samples from users. These apps often stake a claim on ownership of any images the AI produces and give companies power over user information.

Lifewire interviewed Irina Raicu, the director of internet ethics at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics for her perspective.

"Rather than asking individual users to protect themselves, we should consider ways in which we, as a society, might hold app-makers accountable for the ways in which they acquire data and for the promises they make in their privacy policies."
