First-Year Student Application

Are you Bronco Bound? We are happy you arrived at your destination!

Now that you've familiarized yourself with the various Residential Learning Communities at SCU, it's time to begin your application! Don't wait and make sure to complete your housing application via your personalized housing portal today. The housing application for 2026-2027 first-year students will open at 9:00AM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 and close at 5PM on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026*.

*After May 6, 2026, Housing will transition to a rolling application process and students will be placed based on availability.
In support of the residential nature of Santa Clara, and the University’s commitment to integrated education, all unmarried first-year applicants are required to live on campus for their first two years. Class year is determined based on total academic years in college. Execution of the University Housing Contract satisfies this requirement, and all terms and obligations remain in effect for the full contract period, regardless of occupancy. Exemption from this requirement is granted only following a formal University review process in accordance with established criteria and requires written release from the University Housing Contract by the Housing Services Director or their designee. Exemption is not subject to discretionary approval. This policy does not apply to transfer applicants.
