Here at Santa Clara University we guarantee housing for students within their first and second year. Although housing for Juniors, Seniors, and Transfer is not guaranteed, we do offer a variety of housing options for them. Incoming first years are required to live on campus. We have a total of eight residential living communities (RLC) each with its own theme and unique living, and learning experience! To find out more about the Incoming First Year Application process and timeline please click here.
Juniors and Seniors who submit their housing application on time go through a process called Room Selection where they receive a date and time in which they are able to select their housing for the following academic year. Juniors and Seniors will be able to select rooms in the University Villas Or Neighborhood Units (Which will have a separate application and selection process).
Sophomores who submit their housing application on time go through a process called Room Selection where they receive a date and time in which they are able to select their housing for the following academic year. Sophomores can select from singles, doubles, triples, suites style, and apartment-style rooms throughout the 8 RLC communities.
Transfer students are any students transferring into SCU from another university. Although transfer students may be coming into SCU at all different class years, due to the timeline in which transfers are accepted, our office utilizes the same application process for all Transfer students. Housing for transfer students is not guaranteed, however, we do our best to place any transfer students interested in housing.
Applying outside of the timeline for Winter and Spring Applications? No problem, we accept applications on a rolling basis. Please note that placements are based on availability.
Juniors and Seniors are classified as students in their third, fourth, and or even fifth final year here at SCU. While Juniors and Seniors are not guaranteed housing we do offer housing for them within both our University Villas community and our off-campus houses, also known as Neighborhood Units. We offer housing for Graduate and Law students, on a first come first serve basis within four different Graduate and Law communities.
