Undergraduate Leadership Team

Purpose

The Undergraduate Leadership Team (ULT) works to improve undergraduate teaching and learning, and overall quality of undergraduate education in the Leavey School of Business. In that capacity, it serves as the final locus of dialogue in the formulation of School policies, procedures, and guidelines that relate to undergraduate concerns.

The Undergraduate Leadership Team’s charge is to:

  1. Review and evaluate proposals for new undergraduate courses and substantial revisions to a current course to ensure their academic rigor and contribution to the goals and mission of the School and the University.
  2. Review and evaluate proposals for substantive restructuring of undergraduate curricula of academic departments and other entities within the School, especially majors, minors, concentrations, and the like.
  3. Review and evaluate substantial changes in curriculum learning objectives, particularly regarding (a) changes affecting the learning objectives of courses in other departments, (b) changes in core courses required for all LSB students, and (c) changes to prerequisites that may affect course demand in other departments.
  4. Periodically review the school’s core curriculum, benchmarking with other business schools, and propose changes as appropriate.
  5. Oversee assessment standards and processes to ensure quality assessment of core curriculum learning goals and that assessment findings lead to appropriate curricular changes.
  6. Engage in policy discussions with the Dean, academic departments, and the University on various aspects of the School’s undergraduate academic concerns, such as student advising, academic integrity, teaching evaluation, grading policy, etc.
  7. Ensure appropriate consultation with students, faculty, staff, and other key committees (e.g., Dean, School Graduate Policy Committee, and the University Academic Affairs committee, other university departments and schools).
