Assistant Professor, Management
Adele Xing is an assistant professor of management in Leavey School of Business. She received her Ph.D. in management from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. She also holds an M.A. in Strategic Management from Peking University and a B.A. in Business Administration from Wuhan University.
Adele Xing's research focuses on understanding inter-organizational relationships using a behavioral approach, drawing on social psychological theories and the behavioral theory of the firm. She explores this topic in two ways. In one line of research, she examines what strategies firms use to solve problems they encounter in acquisitions, and how these strategies affect acquisition performance and firms’ acquisition behaviors in the future. In the second line of research, she studies how firms negotiate, design, and amend contracts when collaborating with other firms.
