Ashley Ricks : Johnson Scholarship : The Morgan Hill Times
Future business school student Ashely Ricks, Class of 2020, was featured in a story by the Morgan Hill Times for receiving SCU’s Johnson Scholarship.
An excerpt from the piece:
At SCU, the final 50 [Johnson Scholar candidates] were divided into four groups and participated in classroom-style discussions, as well as other team building and leadership activities. All the while, members of the selection committee observed them.
“It was very intense,” said Ricks, who stayed in the dorms, mingled with the other finalists and got a chance to interact with current Johnson Scholars. “Everyone there was a very high-caliber student....It was a super cool experience.”
“When I was there on campus, I really just saw myself falling in love with it,” said Ricks, who recently committed to SCU and will attend its Leavey School of Business. “At that point, a free ride to a private school education kinda made my decision for me. It was extremely hard to pass up.”
